Bali Bombing Terrorist Will Be Executed in October

Bali Bombers

The terrorists of the first Bali Bombing Imam Samudra and Amrozi will be executed in October. The local news have stated that the duo terrorist will be excuted after the fasting month of Ramadhan, or about early October.

They have spread a dark terror through out the country and making a bad name out of Indonesia, not to mention Bali. Because of them more tourists cancelled their trip to Indonesia, and the Balinese were so ashamed because of that terrible act.

Casualties were coming from tourists and local commoners who worked at the Padi pub. Many Australian were killed and more people were injured. The day was a day that couldn’t be forgotten easily, and it show a good lesson for us Indonesia about the danger of terrorism.

Since the day they were captured and sent to prison, the two had never submit for clemency to reduce or even canceled their punishment. But Indonesia’s law took so long to decide on the two death-date.

More news about the death sentence will follow on Indonesia Guide.

EU Flight Ban Extended

Garuda Indonesia
Garuda Indonesia

Since 2007 EU has decided to ban all flights from Indonesian airlines. The EU flight commision said that because of the booming in cheap flights in Indonesia, safety has been neglected due to the low price the airlines are offering. Since that time Indonesian airlines had already try to make it up to the EU standards as hard as they could, but only to find out the flight ban is being extended.

It’s true that local airlines in Indonesia are strying to compete with each other and trying to gain new customers and trusts, and of the way they decide to take on was to lower the price of airline tickets. The low cost airlines did have an impact in increasing the number of people trying to travel around with airplanes, but those low price (too low probably) are not without consequences.

Batik, Indonesia National Clothing

Don't I Look Great
Don't I Look Great

Originated in Java which literally translated from Javanese etymology amba (’to write’) and titik (’dot’ or ‘point’) it’s a method to create patterns and dyeing cloth used since ancient Javanese dynasties. It is commonly used by Indonesian to attend a formal event like a wedding celebration, corporate event or other formal events.

A few months ago Bill Gates was giving a presidential lecture in Indonesia and he decided to wear Batik during his lecture, because he wish to honor the Indonesian culture and Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono who’s the current president of Indonesia was amazed by his action. Besides wearing Batik gives you the comfort of a shirt without forgetting the formality, unlike when wearing suits which are stiff and too hot.

There are two types of Batik, factory-made batik and hand-made batik. Factory-made batik is cheaper than the hand-made batik. There are quite a few of these factories that produce imprint batik clothes, from major garment companies to home industries. The home industries however are sometimes selling short pants, bags, bathrobe and many more with batik motifs.
